POSTGRADUATE STUDIES
The Department of English Language and Literature currently offers the following MA programmes:
- MA in English Studies: Literature and Culture with a specialisation in Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Anglophone Literature and Culture (for more information about the programme and application guidelines see the MA programme page)
- MA in ‘English language, Linguistics and Translation’, with two specializations on rotation (a) Linguistics: Theory and Applications, and (b) Translation Studies and Interpreting
- Interdepartmental MA, “Translation: Greek, English, Russian,” in collaboration with the Departments of Philology and the Department of Russian Language and Literature
Entry Requirements (international students):
- BA (or equivalent) in Language Studies and Linguistics (for MA programmes in English Language, Linguistics and Translation Studies) and English Literature (for the MA programmes in Anglophone Literature and Translation Studies)
- English proficiency at C2 level (on the scale of the Council of Europe)
- Greek proficiency (desirable) at B2 level (on the scale of the Council of Europe), essential for the MA in English, Translation and Linguistics
- Passing mark in the entrance exams (60/100)
Note: Prospective candidates who have been provisionally selected for a scholarship from the Greek state, must meet all entrance requirements.
Programme information
- MA programmes last three terms (Fall, Spring, Fall) and start in September; the start date for the MA specialization Linguistics:Theory and Applications and the MA in English Studies: Literature and Culture is October 2021
