ECTS
Since 2007, courses at the Faculty of English Studies have been assigned a rating according to the European Credit System (ECTS), for the purposes of facilitating the ERASMUS programme exchanges. As of October 2015, credit loads are modified to facilitate exchanges and reflect class loads more equitably, as follows:
a. All courses (Greek and English) pertaining to semesters 1st-6th have a credit load of six (6) ECTS units each, AND
b. the courses for the 7th and 8th semester carry an ECTS load of seven-and-a-half (7,5) credits.
Please note that changes will go in effect gradually, starting from the academic year 2015-16 for 1st-year courses ONLY and spreading to subsequent years as follows: 1st- and 2nd- year courses in 2016-17; 1st-to-3rd-year courses in 2017-18; and full-programme implementation in 2018-19. Until that time, courses belonging to years not affected by the changes will be credited according to the previous system, that is:
a. All English courses in the Faculty carry a credit load of eight (8) ECTS units each, except for
b. Courses in Greek, which carry a load of three (3) credits each, and
c. the Faculty 5th and 6th semester mandatory core courses, which are credited with three (3) ECTS units each.
