Dr. Katerina Kourkouli holds a PhD from the Faculty of English Language and Literature of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens where she specialized in Online Communities of Inquiry and Practice. She also holds an M.A. in the teaching of English as a foreign/international language (Hellenic Open University) and a BA from the Faculty of English Language and Literature of the NKUA (specialization in Language-Linguistics). She has been a state EFL teacher in secondary education since 2007. She has also been a teacher educator in various teacher training courses, an adult educator and an ESP language instructor at the National School of Public Administration and Local Government in Greece. She has been the author of chapters included in books and has published papers on Online Communities of Inquiry and Practice and the effectiveness of teacher education courses in international refereed journals and conference proceedings. She has presented her work at international conferences and she has offered webinars and seminars to teachers in Greece and abroad. Her research interests include teacher education, distance education, adult education and the teaching of ESP.
