Nikolaos Gogonas holds a BA in English, (University of Athens). MA in TEFL (University of Reading) and DPhil in Linguistics (University of Sussex). He has taught English in secondary education for several years. He has also taught in tertiary education both in Greece (University of Athens, University of Thessaly, Hellenic Open University) and abroad (Universidad de La Laguna,  Universite du Luxembourg). Between 2014 and 2016 he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg after winning a Luxembourgish State Scholarship (FNR). His research interests lie in the field of sociolinguistics with a special emphasis on bi/multilingualism, migration and interculturalism. Currently he is also a tutor at the MA programme “Language Education for Refugees and Migrants” (Hellenic Open University). He has published the monograph Bilingualism and Multiculturalism in Greek Education  (Cambridge Scholars) and several articles in international journals such as: Journal of Multliingual and Multicultural DevelopmentInternational Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, International Migration  and Multilingua.
